While we wait....

Well another 12 hours and 7 minutes to go. So while we wait, where you from, what team do you support? Why did you choose them? Especially those with 2 teams nearby.

For me I grew up in Sacramento going to A's games but couldn't invest in a team that ownership wouldn't invest in. Got to go to a Tony Gwynn baseball camp and the rest is history. Go Friars Go!
Moved to LA in 2021 and being closer to SD it's made it even easier to follow the team. Doesn't hurt that I'm 37 and as I've gotten older my love for baseball has risen while other sports have taken a backseat. I assume it because my life's so busy with 2 kids and it's a sport you can turn on and the announcers make it easy to follow along as background noise or its the 1 sport that radio works seamlessly with. Games are also much more accessible being on all hours of the day.

The desert of Southern California 50 miles west of Yuma, AZ, 20 minutes from Mexico border.

Grew up Philly fan (motto, “we love last place”). Actually went to Connie Mack Stadium.

Going to do a fantasy Diamondbacks team this year, last year was Reds. Really have no favorite team, just love baseball.

Calexico? I head out that way for work sometimes when we are short staffed.

Re: While we wait....

Lived in Orange County my entire life and was a 13 year old baseball fan in 2002. Then the Angels went on to be one of the more dominant teams of that decade. That's enough to get anyone hooked. The last decade has been less fun, admittedly, but it's had it's fleeting moments, and I'll be damned if I start rooting for the Dodgers.

What are the odds? We guys in Southern CA and none of us are Dodger fans, our parents raised us right. Haha

Re: While we wait....

Cleveland, Ohio. Born and raised.

Grew up reading box scores in the sports page during the 70's and 80's.

Been to countless games at the old municipal stadium, then jacob's field, now progressive field. So many great memories.

GO GUARDS!

Re: While we wait....

Being from Canada there were only 2 teams growing up to really cheer for. Since Quebec sucks , I always cheered for Toronto. That was until a little known duo graced the Oakland A's jerseys in the late 80's. THE BASH BROTHERS!!! Suddenly I had a new team to cheer for as my favourite player was none other than.....Jose Canseco!!! I absolutely loved the player he was as he was so opposite of how I played the game. My fondest memory was when I received a t-shirt from my Aunt for my birthday after he had a crazy year.

When he became a Blue Jay later in his career I began to follow that team again and am now a full fledged Blue Jays fan......again........for now.

Re: While we wait....

Mets fan, central NJ. 1st game at Shea in 1976 Seaver pitched! About 90% of all parents and grandparents in my area growing up were from Brooklyn, and former Dodger fans, now turned Mets fans, and hated and still do hate the Yankees!!
