S & B's MLB 2025 Simulation Sliders

We are back for 2025.

As always, our main goal of this set is to have fun playing the game we all love. But also, make it feel as real as possible. We do not want every game to be the same and be a home run or nothing type of game. The goal of our testing was to have about 60-70% singles, and about 10-15% of the hits being doubles. For a fun hobby, I keep track of all my stats on a spreadsheet created by JWDixon120. The link to his spreadsheets is below. It is amazing and even adds some additional storylines to use in your franchise.

Just copy the spreadsheet to make your own and you can make any changes to it.

Here is another spreadsheet that I keep track of my stats during franchise. You can fill out as much as you want on it if you are interested. I personally keep track of runs scored and how they scored (if it is a 3 run HR, I put 3 for HR), stats from the box score, and the scores and other stats.

This thread is meant to be a fun place to talk and discuss the game. Sometimes it gets way too negative out in the general board.

I have enjoyed this game for the past 20 years. But if anybody is on the fence on this game, you should buy it. The additions to this game are excellent. The small stuff they added to the presentation in franchise is amazing. Yes, it is not this brand new feature, but it is just important. The storylines giving you updates across the league, farm reports from the minors, the schedule for the next 10 games, the pitching recap, and more just takes this game to the next level. It is not back of the box additions, but it immerses you in your franchise. The crowd noise and the new PA announcers, makes these games come to life.

Coach Mod's Modifiers

Below is the chart. This is optional but it adds to the excitement of the game.

It is very easy. Before each game you shuffle a deck of playing cards (or an app on your phone) and draw three cards. Use the chart to apply the modifications to your slider set for that game.

So for example...you shuffle your deck of cards and draw in order:

8 Clubs
Ace of Spades
Jack of Spades

Look at the chart...8 of clubs means the card you draw next is now worth double. The Ace of Spades is +1 CPU Contact. So now that is +2 CPU Contact. Jack of Spades is +1 OF Errors.

You can do this before every regular season game.

You can also do Dowie's Wind Modifier.

Dowies Wind Modifier System

A very simply random number check when you get to the 5th innings. Use random.org and generate a number between 1-10 and use the table below:

1-3 Move Wind Slider to 2

4-7 Stays at 5

8-10 Move to 10

If it is a rain game move wind slider and throwing errors for both HUM/CPU up +1. Then do a Wind check in the top of the 5th and if it is raining the modifier will be in addition to the rain mod of +1 (so if the number comes up 1 2 or 3 and it is a rain game your wind slider goes from 6 down to 3 keeping that +1 for the rain, if it was not a rain game the wind slider would go down to two for the same result).

I really want a hard cover of the game simply because Elly is on the cover. However I really want to buy it for early release because my off days from work are Friday and Saturday... perfect timing. On my way home now and I just know I'll make the purchase. Finished my Reds season in MLB 24 losing to the Braves in 6 games in the NLCS. I will definitely choose the Reds again and copy and paste my #2 overall pick from 24 into my franchise in 25.
