Carry over franchise

With the new iteration right around the corner, was just wondering how everyone did with their carry over franchise? Gosh I miss it terribly.

I went from 14 all the way through 20

15 total seasons (every game played)

0 world series titles (went to the playoffs 10 times).

Best player drafted: Had a guy from 14 stay with me the entire time and hit 350 bombs over 12 seasons (1B). No MVP or batting titles, but was a 6 x all star.

Best pitcher drafted: was actually a closer from 16. Over 9 seasons at the helm, collected 297 saves and was constantly averaging 12k/9.

Most heartbreak: had an OF that was an A potential and rated a 77 right out of the draft. Well, he had visited the DL 4 times in 3 seasons and retired. I remember pegging him as a .300+, 30 HR, 100 RBI dude that had 80 speed.

Re: Carry over franchise

I can see how carry-over saves might not be nearly as necessary for football video games, so I don't see EA being as willing to enter the Y2Y fray but for baseball and basketball video games, carry-over saves is a game changer and could actually entice customers to upgrade every year. I'm sure Sony would bring it back if it were feasible but I don't expect them to be as able as they used to be, so I think our best hope is for 2K to experiment with carry-over saves. Maybe if they were to be successful with it, that would incentivize Sony to give it another hard look about bringing it back.

C'mon 2K, help a brother out here.

Re: Carry over franchise

I’m still on 19 from my 14 that I started lol. I’m the Mets and I won the WS in 17. My very first player I drafted in 14 is now a 97 rated second baseman and is my best player. Going into 19 budget is catching up with me as I had to let some really good players go. My team is still good though, just not great as it was.

Nick who used to be a developer on this game said in a video a couple years ago they hadn't ruled out bringing it back. I believe it's feasible but they don't want to assign the necessary number of developers to do it.

I believe the move to multi-platform was the driving factor. They have the code to do it in playstation.
