MLB the Show 2025 vs 2022

Any one have any comparision or summary of the differences between MLB the Show 2025 vs the 2022 installment? I have am still playing 2022 version using historical rosters and was wondering if the newest edition is worth the upgrade.

On the one hand, its going to be a long while before you see a classic historical roster available on MLBTS25.
On the other foot, I love the everybody plays everybody scheduling MLBTS25 will have MLBTS22 doesn't.

The historical rosters I’m currently using in ‘22 version I built myself. I could build them myself in ‘25 version. But more curious around game play, features, etc. if there’s any significant changes. I know ‘25 has the college feature. But didn’t seem like any thing else of significance unless I’m missing it.

Yeah, and I'm pretty sure that college feature is just an 8 college three game experience in Road to the Show only.

23 and 24 were as well. Everything is improved from 22.

Better prospect generation
More audio for classic rosters
Far better retro equipment
Better player models

Revamped Draft
New Draft Lottery Rules
Brand New Free Agent Process
Updated and Improved Trade Logic

Those are the main Franchise items that have changed the last two years. It’s a huge difference, but if you are happy with what you have currently, then I’d say stick with what you have. All depends on what you are looking for in terms of improvements. I personally liked 24 a lot better than 22 and will probably like 25 even more, but to each their own.

I am still playing 22, mainly because I created a fictional league. I just finished up season three. I want to upgrade, but I have custom rosters, logos, and stadiums. I wish it was easier to upload images for logos, instead of having to create them in the game.

I basically played MLB 20 for 5 straight years because of my long running Yankees franchise…..so I totally get that.

I literally just started playing 24 in December 2024 and did play one season on on 23 as the 2024 Yankees.

The gameplay simply blew me away (every part of it actually) and the new presentation improvements really evovled. But when I played classic baseball on 24 that’s what gave me peace to finally put down 20 for a while (still love that game no question).

Now with the deeper off season additions I am very excited for 25.
