PGA 2K25 - Help with Shot Setup

Hoping someone can provide me some guidance. I understand how all the shot mechanics work, have been playing with them and watched a ton of videos. I understand how you need to have the circle expand and take the shot when in the right position, no issue with that.

But even with hitting perfect shots per the setup, often my shots go too far or too short, especially with short game and irons. I'll see a percent on the screen and basically nail the shot according to the stats shown but often doesn't do what is expected from a distance standpoint.

So a few questions....

1) Is the default club selected for the golfer accurate based on all conditions (lie, distance, weather, etc.)? Or does it not take certain conditions in consideration where I then need to make club adjustments?

2) When you start the swing, you see the % and you see the spot where it says things should be perfect with the shot circle. Is that based on all the conditions as well (lie, distance, weather), or are there certain conditions you need to adjust?

3) I have seen in some videos where the screen shows the ball relative to your feet (above and below), but I never see it on my screen, is there a setting I am missing?

Just puzzling me why according to all indicators my shot is perfect but yet often is too long or too short...I understand there is variability built in, but seems to happen all the time for me, especially with the short game/irons.

Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Re: PGA 2K25 - Help with Shot Setup

There is no variability in this game every shot has a reason for what happens. Elevation and wind factor into distance just like in real golf. The club that is auto selected is close if you are on a perfect flat lie in the fairway with no wind or elevation, if you are in the rough that will also affect distance and you'll need to club up. Another huge factor is the downswing (rhythm) which must be 2x to 3x faster than your backswing or at least that is my understanding or you'll get the wrong distance, There is a setting under difficulty called Lie grid you can turn that on then press L1 and it will show the slope of the ground.

Gotcha,so the default shot setup is based on perfect conditions versus actual conditions…that helps.

Re: PGA 2K25 - Help with Shot Setup

SlyBelle...
I had the exact if not similar problem and it was driving me crazy. I would hit the ball around (especially my approach shots) and I would use the main circle in the HUD for distance control and would go long EVERY SINGLE time.

I finally found a source that led me to settings. I had a couple of settings set incorrectly (at least for this problem) and when I adjusted those my problem was fixed. So, make sure you go to Settings/Difficulty and make sure Distance Control Assist is set to "on." Then... make sure Rhythm control is set to "off." It it is set to "on" or "disabled for putting" then the rhythm of your swing will be adjusted. Swinging to fast will add power and swinging to slow will result in a loss of power. I'm not good enough yet to control that.
In addition, and I'm not sure how much this matters but I needed to put my "Swing Contex Input Offset" in the "On" position.

I'm not sure about all the dynamics but all I know is when I had these three settings set up in the way I described above I stopped having to worry about my own faulty judment as to how hard to swing, especially around the greens, in the rough or sand.

Hope that helps.

Thank you, I will give those settings a try.

Distance control should be off much more challenging and rewarding when you dial it in.
