I find this very interesting. I am not one who usually has that stuff turned on but I might have to try that out this year

I think even the clean-screen types can benefit from it indirectly because there will be more transparency/feedback in how the reaction rating works, which will make it easier/more intuitive to tweak with the sliders before turning the interface off (if that's still possible). Like for example if we see too many mid-ability fielders getting blue jumps while testing it'll be a clear sign to turn the reaction slider down - that kind of thing. The infielder jumps were previously only really noticeable if you ran the same play again and again in practice mode - it really does make a difference between groundouts and "seeing-eye" singles. It's something that's always been there and is very important to baseball gameplay, but is just really hard to see in the moment most of the time.

Of course if you can't turn it off then it's more clutter on the screen that that group probably doesn't want to see.

I'm a big fan of the throw accuracy meter change - it's been too easy to attempt perfect throws with no risk in past games. The moving green zone on some throws might make getting some of those perfects extra spicy too.

The video didn't really show me enough about the homerun rob meter to have much of an opinion on it, plus it feels weird when we see rapid-fire instances of a play attempt that happens maybe once out of a couple weeks worth of games or more on average. Most homeruns still aren't going to be robbable no matter what.

At first I was excited about the fielder reaction times. I still think it's a good addition because it adds realism, and will make fielder ratings matter. But I can see how it could go wrong too. A lot of times even with decent outfielders, they look like they're stuck in quick sand when they start to move, and then look like they're going to face plant when they do take off. It works in the outfield because you have more time to react. Grounders are going to come toward fielders much quicker, so I can see a lot of balls getting through if you don't have an excellent fielder at every in field position. Like I said I think it's a good addition, but I can see it going really wrong.

It's amazing they are still pretty far behind MVP Baseball's throwing mechanics. It came out over 20 FRACKING YEARS AGO.

I didn't own MVP but have played it multiple times, but don't remember being wowed by the throwing mechanics - not saying it wasn't good....just curious what made it better than MLBTS? (which could use some improvements - though I'm hopeful these changes will help)

Those jump indicators are hideous.

Hope we can turn them off. I don't need arrows telling me information I can see for myself.

I’m sorry but there’s no game from 20 years ago that’s better than what is being produced today. It was good for its time, yes. But it isn’t better than games today.
