P2ALM 23’s COLLEGE FOOTBALL OFFLINE DYNASTY 🌎 SETUP | HEISMAN SLIDERS

LONNNGGGGG-time lurker, first-time poster… All in an attempt to share the joy College Football 25 has brought and maybe—just maybe—fight some of the frustrations we all experience with our games year in and year out.

About Me

I’m in my mid-30s with an almost two-year-old son and another baby due in August. My wife and I are coming up on our fifth anniversary, and I have a new business in my home state of Tennessee. Life can be busy and hectic, just like everyone else’s, so gaming provides an outlet for fun and creativity.

Over the last few years, I’ve spent time on Madden, NBA 2K, The Show, and EA Sports PGA Tour—all great games—but NOTHING compares to the return of my first love. NCAA Football was MY GAME back in the day. It was, by far, the game I played the most in my younger years. This first release, while nowhere near perfect, was exactly what I had been hoping for because college football is my favorite sport on the planet.

I’ve spent countless hours on the game since release, experiencing the highs and lows just like everyone else. But in my belief, there is enough here in this first edition to create a GREAT experience. After bouncing around with different teams and never making it past the first offseason, I wanted to develop a way to stay locked in for multiple seasons. The on-field gameplay—while not perfect—delivers what I’m looking for, so I’m determined to create the most realistic experience possible.

FRUSTRATIONS to FIGHT

Updates – I struggle with playing in the middle of a season when a major gameplay update drops. I don’t like knowing the first five weeks were played on a “different playing field.”

Bugs – Like all games, College Football 25 launched with some bugs. For example, the number-change glitch on recruits didn’t bother some people, but it bugged me enough that I didn’t want to go too deep into a dynasty.

Rosters – Later roster updates will provide a more accurate representation of what we see on Saturdays.

Team Choice – I couldn’t decide between a rebuild, taking over my favorite team, choosing a big school, a small school, etc.

Sliders – I struggled to find a set that was regularly updated and felt right.

Injuries – The latest settings have provided some realistic injuries. (I lost two QBs to extended injuries in the first five weeks.)

These are just a few examples, but they often led me to restart after my first season—or not even finish one at all. Meanwhile, I was still enjoying the on-field product and having some great games. While the game isn’t perfect, I feel like EA is done making significant changes that would force me to restart my dynasty again.

Now, I’m putting fingers to keys to share my ideas for combating dynasty restart syndrome and helping you enjoy this game as much as I still do!

The Plan

As of now (haha), my approach is to avoid College Football 26 at launch and wait until later in the cycle to pick it up. This will give EA time for major updates and allow slider gurus to refine the gameplay experience. My goal is to avoid dynasty restart syndrome by eliminating the common frustrations others experience.

So, here’s what I came up with: an OFFLINE Dynasty experience designed for long-term play.

TEAM SELECTION

Do you want to run with one team or multiple? If you struggle to pick just one, why not do more than one? This way, you can check off every box for what you’re looking for in a program.

CAMERA SETTINGS

Offense – Zoom

Defense – Defensive Perspective

To me, this provides the most realistic experience. While neither camera is perfect, a defender shouldn’t be able to see what’s behind them! It also adds an extra challenge when reading the defense and finding open receivers as the QB.

SLIDERS

Shoutout to Matt10 and Canes21—I’ve lurked their threads to gather ideas for this set. Also, XP sliders are copied straight from Funkycorm’s thread, as I’ve found them to be the best.

I input these in the main menu and then import in to dynasty. (I also clear and reimport after each game. Probably has no affect but it’s what I do haha)

Curious if anyone has given these a try yet? I have been getting some great games, injuries, different types of plays, different CPU teams run the ball well, I can’t run the ball well on some CPU teams.. overall having a lot of fun!

I’m undefeated with Tennessee but two and five with Stanford. Blown out teams and also been blown out!

Game film and stats are posted for yall to see.

- Trying them out now, brother. I’ll let you know how they play out for me. I appreciate the effort put into the set. I also appreciate the transparency in your intro - awesome!
