S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl (PC/Xbox)

I don't think we ever did a thread for this one, but I did finally get to it. I'm a big fan of the series from back in the day, so I wanted to give it space to actually not be a total buggy mess and also wanted to have time to actually play it in full. My playthrough was around 50+ hours, and I only scratched the surface of everything in the world.

It is still very buggy, and it's very weird, and it's very STALKER. I wrote a quick review on it (join GGapp, it's like Letterbox for games and I want more people on it haha), and obviously you can scope it out on Game Pass if you're ever interested in trying out one of the more unique FPS games around with the DNA of stuff like Day Z and Tarkov within it.

We had this thread.

I am excited to eventually get into this, but I am waiting on some patches to polish it up and get the A-Life in a better spot.

This was my game of the year last year. I'm not quite finished with it, but I have somewhere between 65-75 hours in it.

Another game that was a 7/10 but damn if it wasn't MY TYPE of 7/10. They just don't make games like this much anymore, for better and worse. It made me want to go back and play the previous ones, as I haven't touched those before.

Haha yeah that was more or less my take. Like, man, there's a ton of stuff wrong with this game, but it's also "old PC" in a way I appreciate since it got a bigger budget this time.

I'm playing this right now and enjoying it. The new patch has improved stability a lot.

Had to switch to story mode though, kept dying in the tutorial section otherwise, still plenty challenging and dangerous for the average FPS gamer I think.
