MLB The Show 25 Screenshots

From intitial impressions, I can’t say it looks much different to 24 but I guess we need to see it in motion - if these are in fact from 25.

It says 25 above Ketel Marte's hands.

Like I said after everyone started freaking out about "current gen only", we'll see if there's even a noticeable graphical upgrade in the first year.

This is just so sad that MLB The Show is like frozen in time when it comes to graphics.

My hype was at about a 8 a few days ago when I heard it was Current Gen only. But after seeing these pics my hype is now at a 2.

I knew it was to good to be true.

I guess we now have just the Nintendo Switch to thank for MLB The Show graphics still looking like a PS4/PS3 game.

I'll wait to reserve judgement till the trailer comes out and I see it in motion. It does look no different than last year based on the pics though.

And I'm deflated. Still waiting for Tuesday, but why can't they do ANY graphical improvements on this game?

But... But... Lighting is better!

Fix the models! They are still clay-like. Fix the grass, and dirt.

HOPING we see something on Tuesday, but as for now, just disappointed.

As I’ve stated before, the issue isn’t graphics. It’s the player models. The below photo is from The Show 17.



The graphics are noticeably different, specifically the clearer uniforms and much better lighting. However the player models are exactly the same, which makes it look like it’s from PS3. Eight years later and we should at least get new models.

EDIT: one difference I did notice is with the jerseys. The sleeves and jerseys seems like they move now where as before they were static. Just looking at the Marte screenshot, the sleeves look to be moving as you can see the wrinkles on the sleeve and it not being a static shape.

Always so hard to tell from screenshots but the lighting looks improved to me.

What a nice looking PS3 / sorta okayish looking PS4 / horrible looking PS5 game.


Devastatingly disappointing. Those are screenshots they want to use to sell the game and even these look vastly underwhelming.

Those textures look very, very outdated.




Man, I really had my hopes up after they current gen only announcement. Yet another year I will skip the game. I will not spend a single dime on this series as long as they try to get away with delivering essentially the same game again. It's been years now.
