Historical roster playbooks

The intent of this is for the cpu to use a playbook that best resembles the historical team. Best solution of course is custom playbooks but when slow sim watching cpu vs cpu only one of those teams can use a custom playbook.

So I wanted to list both created playbooks and standard playbooks that are best to use for the teams.

For example my skins91 custom playbook will be the best to get the 1991 redskins look and feel however on games they cannot have a custom playbook I’m finding the Cleveland browns looks the closest (of course way off with too much shotgun but closer then the other 38 choices)

1991 Redskins. Custom - Skins91, EA - Browns.
1991 Houston Oilers. Custom - Oilers91, EA - Run and shoot
1991 Falcons. Custom - Falcons91, EA - Run and Shoot.
1991 Lions. Custom - Lions91, EA - still figuring it out.

Re: Historical roster playbooks

I was unable to find any historical playbooks on madden share but if you know of one or create one please list it here and I can add to the first post.

Additionally if you feel that a default EA playbook works well for a historical teams list that as well.

I’m in the middle of a full season (todays default rosters and playbooks) to see what Madden version of todays teams look like when cpu bs cpu slow sim. Unfortunately they are not what you think. For example the Ravens hand to king Henry way less times per game then they should, but is a good playbook for a running QB.

Feel like the West coast generic book is good for 90s era offenses. Same with generic run and shoot for those teams. I'm getting some decent pass run splits when playing the moment via super sim

I agree with the ratios working pretty well, I dont like how much shotgun formations plays they both use. The Falcons Red Gun used some shotgun for sure but the Oilers were almost exclusively 4 WR under center.

But end of the day I may be getting too picky and the cpu also runs better outmof shotgun so I may just have to deal with letting them do it.

I will say I think the super sim engine was at its best for 90s era results in M 23. The generic offensive playbooks gave you great pass-run splits and offensive production that matched the era. Obviously not perfect as TEs and WR2 on certain teams would catch more balls than their real life counter part, but I feel you could mess with the depth chart to get a great overall balance in catches and completion percentage that reflected the era the best we can modern football games. If you wanted a little more scoring like 94-95, you can use the modern defensive playbooks for teams. If you wanted less you generic defensive playbooks. Will say in my small amount of testing, I haven't been a big fan of the results given by generic defensive playbooks in the super sim engine in 25. Seems like it inflates pass completion percentage

I am not sure what happened but I cannot seem to get on through the ap or by phone to my current Phantom Fighter account here. Somehow though this old account and pw works today.

Anyway I’ve not yet released any playbooks as I wanted to test them with ITeach 1992 rosters and tweak if needed. So far they work much better then with modern teams although to be honest the modern playbooks give better run pass ratios with his roster then with modern teams.

Anyway I plan to release some playbooks and data soon and announce it here when my real account works again
