Outdated Two-Way Contract Logic?

I’ll admit that I never really paid too much attention to the two-way contract players on the past, but this year for MyGM I actually spent time adjusting the rosters and focusing on the G-League teams and specifically 2-way players. I ran into the below two issues.

When doing some test sims, I left my two-way players up and got the message about the players reaching their 45 day max with the NBA team. In real life, this has been updated to 50 games instead of the 45 day previous rule.

In terms of call ups/send downs, I notice that for my team had 14 full rostered players and 3 two way contracts. Since I didn’t have a full 15 man roster, it would only let me send down 2 of the 3. Other teams in the same situation are sending down all 3 as well as a 4th player on a rookie contract. I don’t know the specific rules here, but I have a feeling it’s working right for the AI controlled teams but not for the user controlled.

I’ve found work around for the issues, but does anyone know if these are just bugs with MyNBA that need to be fixed? Or did they just not update any logic with two way contracts?

I've noticed similar issues with the MyNBA season that I'm currently playing. At the beginning of my season, I user controlled every team so that I could assign all of the Two-Way players to the G-Leauge. While doing this I noticed that for some teams I could only assign two of the Two-Way guys instead of all three.

Also, I noticed that once your G-League roster hits 13 players you can't assign anymore players. My G-League team has 10 players, but I wanted to assign my three Two-Way players plus a couple of my rookies but it only allowed me to assign three players because of the 13 player max.

Something else I noticed in previous versions is when you send guys down they don't get minutes. I think it had to do with G-League guys being overrated and often times higher than the guys on 2-way contracts.

So you'd send them down to get minutes but they would just sit on the bench.

Maybe this has been fixed though.

Two way contracts in game are kind of just a novelty, like they've been implemented and then not touched again.

- should.be 50 games, not 45 days
- the CPU doesn't really use them or.sign new players to two way, even after the days expire
- the CPU never converts two way contracts
- you can't sign 2nd round draft picks on two way contracts, which is commonplace
- the bug of all two way players having their days set to 0 when you "start today" still exists
- you can't include them in trades (eg Reece Beekman)

I suspect an issue is that the two way guys usually have the lowest overalls so the CPU ignores them

I downloaded a G-League roster that lowers the ratings of the G-League players a bit and then imported them into my edited version of the default roster. That seemed to solve the issue of playing time. Again though, you should have some priority of your two-way guys playing when you send them down because what other reason would you have to send them down.

On top of that, if you don’t edit those G-Leaguers and the two way guys don’t play, it hurts their morale. I never understood why it happened in years past because I didn’t pay attention to the G-League, but makes sense once I’ve done some of the research.

It’s sad because while MyNBA has all of the settings it had before, changes that used to be updated on a regular basis in the rules/salary cap haven’t been touched in years. It’s great that they’ve added the NBA Cup and the Play-In, but they truly are neglecting the details in this mode.
