Is it possible for a DE NOT to win the Heisman in an online dynasty?

In year 3 of our online dynasty and a DE is about to win the Heisman for the 3rd straight year.

I even deliberately started putting up cheese stats to try to see if my QB could overtake but it doesn't look like it's gonna work.

A DE with 28 sacks and 38 TFL's is favored to win the Heisman over a QB on the #1 team with 8,000+ yards and 90+ total TDs

I don’t play ODs so I don’t have cheesy DEs, but in my 14 years of my offline dynasty, a QB has won the Heisman every single season (never one of mine).

I also don't play online, but in my current dynasty (in year 11) a defensive player has won the Heisman 4 times. I had 2 DEs win, a RDT who was DT2 on a four man line, and an OLB who was RRDE and ROLB. These four had ridiculous sack stats. I am playing All-American which is more realistic sack-wise than Varsity (and I assume Freshman). Are you playing Heisman?

Re: Is it possible for a DE NOT to win the Heisman in an online dynasty?

only in season 3, I haven't seen a DE win the Heisman(It's been QBs), but my DE won Defensive Player of the year, Lombardi, and best DE of the year in the first 2 seasons of my Fresno state dynasty(offline), with 2nd place in each of those my other DE and my DT in top 10 for Lombardi.

from what I can tell, user teams DE or DL in general get much more 'tackle for loss' than the Simmed stats and it seems to weight pretty heavy on the awards.

The issue isn’t about the DE being overpowered in voting. The issue is QBs are underpowered in voting. I won the Heisman with several RBs and WRs, so one year I started to throw the ball around more and even though one of my receivers had great stats, my QB was by far better than his competition. Then once I got to Heisman time, the WR won it anyway. QBs have to throw like 3 or less INTs in a season or they won’t get it.

Now that I moved to a different school, it’s the first time I’ve seen a DE win it (from my school), but he had an insane year. They need to tweak the award winners and especially the all-Americans since you have guys winning awards but not making the all-American teams.

I play on all American. My team gets too many sacks, but I play lots of guys.
My auto subs on the DL are 97/93.
I also have different guys playing LE/DT1/DT2/RE than my RLE/RDT1/RDT2/RRE, so my sacks get spread around.

Below are the leading sackers per season in my 14 year dynasty. And while I have had 2 DTs get a ridiculous 20+ sacks, neither of them were even Heisman finalists, let alone Heisman winners.

As I wrote above, all 14 of my Heisman winners were QBs. Below are the last 2 winners, and you can see that they both had more than 3 interceptions (the Texas dude threw 9 picks en route to winning the Heisman).

And on an unrelated note, I never knew the aOSU Heisman winners was a transfer from Texas State. That’s pretty cool for him to come from a Group of 6 school where he had a mediocre at best JR season, to winning the starting QB job for the Hairless Nuts and then win the Heisman.

Interesting. Maybe it’s that my WR stats were too good compared to the competition. It’s definitely a weird system overall between awards and All-American selection.
