2k documentary

Madden has theirs and I think 2k would be more interesting because it's a lot similar to
The Kendrick vs Drake battle

NBA Live was the big dog for years until 2k knocked them off the throne without exclusivity needed

EA made their sports games a highlight reel (arcade like)over true simulation and 2k
Showed the world the other side of that coin (sim)
With animations we never seen before that wowed us

They can also go deeper how visual concept (former EA partners) was formed and decided to become it's own sports gaming company ECT ..

I would love to see an episode about NBA 2k11 and how it became 2k's "Not Like Us"

Re: 2k documentary

I think the only issue would be finding enough "villains" to make it four parts. Since 2K comes out after the wild west of pre-Dreamcast days, it's really just Live for the most part, and 2K mostly beats its *** pretty quickly haha.

Live not staying with the basics is what killed them. Live had a very sloid foundation with LIVE2000 and completely with south with 2001

I almost think Live is the more interesting documentary because it's GOATed on the Genesis, stays solid on PS1, then is absolute trash during early days of PS2, recovers again eventually, and then same process happens on 360/PS3.

2K was always just various forms of good to then eventually becoming insanely good by the time 360 hits.

But yeah, still think there's a narrative issue once you get to a certain point with a 2K (or even Live) documentary.

To me, Madden documentary is good for the first couple episodes but once the only villain/foil is EA then it falls apart because it basically has to skip 15 years to present day. After all, the only narrative thread is exclusivity/EA/NFL as the only real foils/villains/antagonists to bounce off of and that's not going to exactly get greenlit for an EA-backed documentary.

Re: 2k documentary

2K has been downhill since it "won" the battle and became a game for the share holders rather than the players. That's already 12 years ago. The game itself is just basketball Fortnite nowadays.

2K didn't beat EA so much as EA beat themselves.
