Contract Negotiations

Can anyone help me understand the difference between Contract Negotiation and Delegate Renewal? I am assuming they are the same thing, the only difference being either I do the negotiations myself or I delegate to my staff, correct?

I’m not at the game right now, but delegate lets you set a financial range for the contract and the CPU will handle the bargaining.
Ex: Start at 100k but don’t go over 150k.
Contract negotiation puts it completely in your hands.
