UFC 5 Patch 1.17 Features 2 New Fighters, Gameplay Updates and More

Patch 1.17 goes live tomorrow with two new rostered fighters, gameplay updates that address issues that prevented fighters from throwing retreating rear hooks and the Full Guard top position being counted as a dominant position for judges scoring criteria.

Ranked Stand and Bang is coming to UFC 5! The fan-favorite striking-only mode will now be playable online with leaderboards. Climb the online leaderboard as you bang it out on the feet and see who’s left standing.

What a ride 2024 has been for Poaton! To celebrate his incredible 2024 campaign, log into UFC 5 between Nov. 22, 2024, and Jan. 7, 2025, to download the Alex “Poaton” Pereira UFC 303 Alter Ego from the in-game store at no additional cost. Chama!

In-Game Store Black Friday Bundles (Ends Dec. 3)

• CHAMPION Series Alter Ego Bundle - Four previously released Alter Egos from the CHAMPION SERIES

Gameplay Updates

• Fixed an issue that prevented fighters from throwing retreating rear hooks.
• Made Full Guard Top count as a dominant position for judges scoring (It counted as neutral.)
• Fixed the camera following some diving punches from heavy knockdowns.

They always say they add vanity rewards, but through all the crap included I honestly can't tell which are new. It doesn't help that 95% of the content is hidden. I'm really not going to log into your game each day to check, sorry.


I did log in 4 times for the holiday "gift", but didn't even bother to push the button to get it as it was garbage. A elf pants and some weird gloves? What's wrong with you people? You trolling people for xmas?

I didn't even think about that. Royce and Dern in a gi would make a lot more sense. It's crazy that there's nobody in EA that functions as a voice of sense. Missing the days of GameplayDev who had a lot of affinity with MMA (remember his action figures? ).


Some people use these clothing items online but that's just because they are there, their fighter needs to look distinct and there's nothing else.

Oh my gosh, I am unbelievably excited about this update! Patch 1.17 sounds like it's going to be a game-changer with Kai Asakura and Michael Morales joining the roster. I've already preordered any additional content, and you bet I'm planning on being first in line when the servers go back up after the update.

The gameplay fixes, especially the one allowing retreating rear hooks and adjusting how the Full Guard Top is scored, are exactly what we needed to make the game feel more authentic. And the introduction of Ranked Stand and Bang online with leaderboards? That's just the cherry on top! I can't wait to see how high I can climb those leaderboards.

The holiday gifts and the free Alex "Poaton" Pereira Alter Ego are such awesome bonuses! I'm setting my calendar to log in every day to grab those goodies. This update is coming at the perfect time to keep the excitement going into the new year. Chama indeed!
