Appreciate the info! Did Madden get the patch yet for PS5 Pro? Hoping NHL 25 also gets the patch.

Re: The PS5 Pro Is Here, Should You Care as a Sports Gamer?

I agree, In The Air Tonight does works in all situations!!

As far as value is concerned, I will say that the 2TB Harddrive is a great selling point. The extra $80 bucks for the Optical Drive was money well spent. I feel the new drive is faster and smoother than the built in version. If anything goes wrong, its a very easy fix. I added an extra 2tb internal that moves like butter. I traded in my Original ps5 and got $310 dollars at GS. I also blew the dust off of my Series X for an additional $300 and traded in my games that I had for the X and got $114 so after taxes, I paid under $100 for the pro. I think it was well worth it. I compare the Pro and the regular ps5 to Reynolds aluminum foil. Other foils will cover your food but there is something extra about Reynolds wrap that makes it that much better than the others. Sure the ps5 is a great video game rig, but the pro gives it that little extra something that makes it that much better. The new Wifi makes game streaming faster and better. My games load faster and play that little bit better that makes it all connect. I feel like 2K plays that bit smoother and looks a bit more buttery than before. There was a slight tint over the screen before that has been replaced by a smoother contrast that make it pop more. In CFB 25, the cheerleaders look a bit more lifelike with less jerky movements. The crowd looks better and the gameplay does not have the blurry speed as before. Everything came together well making this the system that it should've been in the first place. If you've saved up your money to buy a Ps5, I would say deliver a few more papers or work a few more hours and stack a little more and get the pro. If you have a ps5, I would say take it to GS and trade it in while the value is still there and maybe trade in a few games and get the Pro. The fact that Sony didn't market this system much, made me that much more curious about it. They could have very much went on a buzzword binge to try and convince us mere mortals that this is the system of systems. Instead, they just put it out there and said, "hey, if you want it, buy it. If you don't, Don't". I took a gamble and went all in, I really have 0 regrets. This is the system that I was looking for. I'm excited about whats in store.

"I haven’t really been blown away by anything since the NBA 2K14 trailer."

I remember constantly rewatching and marveling at that trailer. It was one of the few games that actually delivered and looked as good as the trailer. It wasn't a Watch Dogs situation where the trailer oversold what the game looked like.

We've had great looking games since then. There have been console games that look better. But I can't think of another game or trailer that blew me away and delivered with it's visuals. The closest that comes to mind might be the Matrix Awakens demo, which doesn't really count.

Re: The PS5 Pro Is Here, Should You Care as a Sports Gamer?

I was barely able to get into the PS4.
The fact is -- and I think this is the reality for a lot of people who were massive consumers before in the gaming industry -- that we don't have the money for this. And even if we're either unemployed like me, or have the money but other things to spend it on like the extortion that is buying eggs now, the price of what it costs to game on the newest consoles now isn't worth it. At least not for lots of sports gamers.
A decade has past and we are farther almost than ever before from the kinds of tools we want in games to update rosters and players. And as sports fans, at the end of the day, that's all its about. Close to 25 years ago we had in many titles, better sports editing tools. So myself, and many many, if not most people I know are playing PS3/360/PC games from 2016 and earlier. That means, many of us are willing to play games with a few graphical or even animation jitters in exchange for better gameplay, more control of rosters, and not having to wade through knee-deep online features crap.
