MyNBA: Teams always decline options

I did a sim rebuild in MyNBA and one in MyGM just to poke around, both offseason the cpu teams decline every player option. Wemby, Paolo, Chet, etc always hit free agency year one. I’ve made zero changes to the base settlings, just picked a team and went. What am I missing?

I’m grinding through my every game GSW dynasty and I’m worried about all these guys hit free agency like the sim rebuilds.

Base setting are not optimized to use in a franchise you'll have to find sliders try pop boy 2k on YouTube, mynba will always be funky because the NBA salary stuff is horrible and with out the tools to manage it like sign and trades it's impossible, you'll have to take over teams most of the team and fix them

You generally need to take full 30 team control for offseason tasks like signing draft picks, picking up team options, protecting players (in the event of an expansion draft) and qualifying offers. Otherwise you can get some pretty weird results.

Free agency is also tricky. I tend to not take control of the CPU for this as I like it to be a bit unpredictable, but the CPU will then make some weird contract decisions in terms of who they do and don't offer deals to, often losing good players because they don't even make a contract offer.

The quickest way as most ppl have said is to grab a snack, and sit down.

30 team control, protect all you need to protect, decline who you want to decline. Take control of your dynasty in the offseason, make sure its how you want it to be.

IUs it annoying? Yes.. but it will save you headaches.
