Another guide I had been meaning to do for a bit but wanted to really make it worthwhile. Lots of GIFs, money plays, concepts, ideas, things to look out for, things to explore, and just general knowledge I feel helps whether you want to build your own playbook or find a default one that works for you.

The only thing I don't really explore is how to make a "realistic" playbook, but there is good work by the community on that front and even some Google docs out there for that from the past.

You can also find this playbook in College Football 25 by searching for OpSportsPlaybook with the PSN of ChucklesBiscotti

For better or worse, the ''best playbook'' for me is a custom playbook. The biggest real difference I have in creating my offensive playbook versus creating my defensive playbook is, I'm going to max out my 400 plays in my defensive PB allotment but for offense I only need between 150-200 plays.

I was going to say my best playbooks are customs as well as I enjoy theory crafting a scheme and EA often omits several concepts per formation which I hate. And like you EA books are often too thin for my liking

I never had any intention of creating a playbook, but as I was waiting for the first major game update and roster update, I was just playing with random teams to see how Shedeur/Hunter played, Jeanty, Milroe, Jalon Daniels, etc., and I did the 101 things in Ultimate Team and as I was going through it was "Oh, I like that play" or "Oh, that play keeps working for me." Next thing I knew I had a huge a** list of plays, then started going through the NCAA 25 playbook websites and found more plays to try out.

I wound up creating one that just has a little bit of everything (it's in the Custom Playbook thread for anyone interested) and it allows me to play each drive different, each game different, each opponent to their weaknesses or what they like to run, and it just made it that much more enjoyable to know I'm winning with something I took the time (and a lot of it) to put together. I know Madden had this feature , but it never resonated with me because there's just not as much variety to me as there is in college football

For me on offense I use formations that have both productive pass and run options to allow the ability to audible depending on what the defense is doing. In coach mode where the user QB is limited that means mostly drag routes and slants.

On defense I use a variety of packages again depending on what the opponent is doing.

It's important to mix it up so the CPU AI doesn't adapt figure out what I'm doing.
