Oregon, why are you this way?

Why does Dillon Gabriel want to throw the ball into the stands?

This may be a semi continuation of the ratings don’t matter thread, but I can’t understand how to fix this or why the logic is such.

I got cooked by Ulatowski from Kent State. The Gophers starters pretty soundly out-spec the Golden Flashes in ratings. Ulatowski stood in the pocket and delivered. Not always accurately, but we played a tight game and he was gutty.

That’s one game, but this is representative of so many games against non-P4 teams. Have you seen Ball State recently? For some reason their depth chart is ****ed(go look) and their quarterback(cornerback? I literally had to google them to make sure that it wasn’t some mid season position swap)was very bad but made some throws on third down. Northern Illinois. That quarterback is a hero. Marshall. Gutty.

I play Oregon, which I’ve overused as my check for sliders against good teams and Dillon Gabriel throws the ball out of bounds on third and 5s like hes saving time on a two minute drill. I saved a first quarter third down where I ran a nickel cover 2 to moderate coverage success and my end got minor leverage 4 yards from him and he fired that ball from the pocket 15 yards into the sideline.

Maybe it’s less the team strength than it’s simply Oregon. Has anyone played Oregon with a middling team? Is their playbook ****ty? I played a couple games against them trying to sub in different playbooks with mixed results(too few for any conclusions). I’ve been fighting sliders largely based on Oregon being the high control. I’ve played probably two dozen games against this team. They’re bad.

You logic engine experts - what is this?

I'd like to know this too. I rarely see them sim well either. Regularly losing to teams way below them. EA hates the Ducks confirmed. Angry Ohio State fans.

That really, REALLY has not been my experience in all of the dynasties I’ve played. In mine Oregon is always THE standard (with Georgia being #2).

In my current dynasty, they’ve won 4 of 8 B1G titles and the last 3 national championships. They also have:
  • Most wins (by 9!!) and fewest losses (6 fewer losses than #2 Georgia!!!)
  • Best winning percentage by .055
  • 16-5 playoff record and 4 more playoff wins than #2 and 9 more than #3!!
  • 3rd most top 5 recruiting classes
  • 2nd most drafted players
  • 2nd most 1st round picks
  • Most conference championships
  • Most national championships

Re: Oregon, why are you this way?

Pains me to say...

They typically sim in the top 10 for me.

I am only on my first season of my Ohio State dynasty and haven't played Oregon yet in the game with anyone so I can't say in game.

But simulating, they are always solid.

Re: Oregon, why are you this way?

Oh yeah. As for playing them on the field, I’ve only played them in 1 season (so far). In that season I played a ranked team 10 times, including Oregon 3 times. I beat every ranked team not named Oregon, but Oregon was responsible for all of my losses.

Wild. I've seen them make the national championship once. I've seen them miss the playoff more often than I've seen them in it. And when I've played against them, they've always been easy to play against. Crazy that you guys are seeing the opposite. Makes me happy though lol.

Re: Oregon, why are you this way?

LMAO! Speaking of Oregon and the sim engine….

I was checking this past week’s results and saw that Oregon absolutely steamrolled some poor hapless FCS school. I check the results of every power 4 game every week, and this is the biggest *** whooping I’ve ever seen.

Wow lol. I saw Georgia drop 83 on an FCS school once.
