Coaching respec is a feature that needs to be added

I was of the mindset that they ability to respec coach abilities should have been in the game from the start, but given they are updating the balance of certain recruiting actions it's almost a necessity at this point.

I'm glad they are updating balance and changing things to what they should be. By all accounts the latest patch seems to have made good changes to recruiting IMO. However the game has been out for 2.5 months now and a lot of people have high level coaches and have spent their points given the meta that was in the game before the patch.

If devs make a change like this, it makes certain abilities that weren't that good before become viable. Players who have spent all their points now cannot make use of those abilities. Conversely, if they were to "nerf" an ability in the future, players who spent points on that ability get screwed over if it ends up being a useless ability for them, and those spent points are basically wasted.

Most people don't want to start over their dynasty every time there's a patch that changes the balance of coaching abilities and renders their current coaching spec sub optimal.

I agree respec should be available. Crazy that it wasn't a basic option.

That said, the other option is to replace your coach. Not sure how to do this as the league commissioner and still keep my same team with the new coach. When I retire the existing coach and go to create new coach my team isn't available to choose. Any idea how to do this?

Create a new user and take over as existing coach for team A (not your current team).
Retire your coach from original team.
Create the coach you want for your original team.
Retire coach from Team A.

Respecing is definitely needed. Ive pretty much commited to using "New Coach" as a form of respec and allows me to use the "OPEN Positions" tab as my own personal Carousel rather than using the crap theyve provided. Down side is I start my coaches over but I just track my stats and build them back up.

This’ll be unpopular and I’m sure I’ll be hit with the “more options is always better” argument, but personally I prefer not having respects being available and I hope they never add it to the games.

If they add it for users, then it absolutely should also be available for CPU coaches and I think it’d be really dumb to have coaches always changing around. “That Kirby Smart used to be the best recruiter in the country, but now he’s terrible at recruiting, but he’ an elite motivator.”

I like that elite recruiter is somewhat hard to get and hoarding your points for a few seasons to get it is a huge advantage.

If you could respec then everyone would go motivator and whatever else they like and respect once elite recruiter unlocks.

The way it's setup now you have to board points until you've unlocked it elite recruiter.

I will dissent here and say I am glad that we can not respec. It makes it so we have to plan ahead for what we want. It adds some strategy to the coaching trees.

I don't disagree that options are nice but I do think there are other things that would take priority over this.

I agree i like it the way it is. It makes you map out what you want. What id like to see added is the ability to show interest in a job that you want but isn’t looking at you. Like have your agent contact them and then they evaluate you.
