Do any sliders help with CPU decision making ?

I was curious which (if any) sliders or combination of help get the CPU QB's to get rid of the ball sooner ?

Lately I have been getting sacks like crazy, specifically with me Left End. 7.5 in 2 games as PSU versus Wisconsin and Ohio State so it's not bad teams.

I've noticed two things:

1. Zone Coverage seems to confuse the CPU QB and they just hold the ball forever. When the game first came out they were getting rid of the ball too fast and I could get no pressure. Now it's the opposite. Even when guys are open good CPU QB's just hold the ball.

2. The Left Tackle is just getting destroyed even when he is rated well, especially against good Defensive Ends. I was getting in on OSU with Abdul-Carter all game. I control an LB almost all the time.

Last thing I've noticed is if I control the Defensive End it's better but I get lit up in the passing game. If I control an LB the CPU isn't like 80% every game but the sacks are crazy.

I don't want to overdo it and get no sacks again but is there a combination of CPU Pass Accuracy and Pass Blocking that would help ?

Or is it better to adjust Human Coverage or Reaction ?

Re: Do any sliders help with CPU decision making ?

Are you using a set that you've been using since before the patches? After all the patches, coverage got better overall, so if you've been using a certain value for awhile now, it may need to be reduced to get coverage looser so that it triggers the QB logic to see a WR as open.

There's multiple things that could be at play here, but I'd tackle each point differently.

For #1, Accuracy, Catching, and Coverage are the 3 sliders for the issues you're having.

For #2, Pass Blocking is what will help there. It's a pretty straightforward slider.

Going back to #1, you say WRs are open, but how open? What you and I may see as open isn't always what the logic in-game will decide is open for the CPU QB. To me, a guy having even 1 step is open, but for the CPU, it sometimes needs a WR to be high school open to see them as open on certain routes, so for gameplay balance reasons, the user defense coverage will sometimes need to be looser and worse than you want to get more realistic results and more effective QB play.

However, if you want to leave coverage where it is at, Accuracy and Catching are two sliders that will tune the CPU QB's "thinking process" and essentially help give them more confidence and quicker processing. Higher accuracy will lead to more contested throws, but you're also potentially sacrificing off-target throws if you go too high. Catching plays a role in how quickly the QB "thinks", so raising it can help the QB make quicker decisions, but your trade-off is the CPU WR's having elite hands at all times.

I don't know what set you're using, but I'd be interested in knowing where you have the CPU Accuracy, Catching, and Blocking sliders along with the USER Coverage slider.

Re: Do any sliders help with CPU decision making ?

I've been playing Varsity - 50 across the board except for CPU Run Blocking at 75.

I played a game in my All-SEC Dynasty on All-American and was destroyed so I am probably caught in the middle.

Fatigue: 75 Injury:53

Penalties: Varied

Also when I mean open usually it's a drag route underneath. Against Ohio State there was no one within 5 yards of the receiver.

Beyond that I select my own plays and don't use coach selection. I've noticed though often on 3rd downs the recommended option are all deep routes which might be making it worse if the suggested calls are similar to what the CPU is using.

Re: Do any sliders help with CPU decision making ?

To fix the Pass Blocking issues, I'd raise it to 62. If that doesn't fix it, try low to mid 70's. That should do the trick. If it leads to the opposite problem, just drop it 2-3 points at a time until happy.

To aid the CPU QB out a bit on Varsity, I'd probably drop your Coverage slider down to around 40, then raise their Accuracy to around 60.

Then, if QB's are too accurate, drop the accuracy a few points at a time until happy.

It also likely wouldn't hurt to turn Intentional Grounding off. Can have an effect on QB logic and the CPU doesn't get called for it anyways, so need for it to be on.

Re: Do any sliders help with CPU decision making ?

I've had to raise pass blocking to 100 and lower pass coverage to 5 (testing) and it's helped. I still had three sacks last game. CPU QB was still just over 50% with multiple passes thrown away from the pocket (always turn off intentional grounding). This is All American. I would mess with those sliders until you get desired result. Also lower speed parity setting may help.

Threshold at 0 drastically lowered sacks on AA.
