Defense?

I’m finding it near impossible to play any sort of effective defense this year. Last year (M24) was too easy but this year the all-pro CPU offense is unstoppable. CPU QBs are competing 80% of their passes.

Am I the only one struggling?

You are not the only one. But it is possible to play effective defense, even on All Madden.



I find keys are:

• You have to generate a pass rush. I user the DT2 for this. I also have my depth chart set so that base and sub packages put defenders in different spots, to minimise the OL ability to increase resistance bars. I also sub to "4 DE" in long yardage.
• You have to mix up coverage. Beware that some zones are broken and will leave wide open against particular formations. I tend to play mainly variants of cover 3, some cover 2. Cover one man, or man blitz on 3rd downs. In my own 20, man is with press, and zones are with hard flats. Just be careful how your corners match up the WRs. I'm Dallas so started with 2 good CBs and filled #3 with FA and then the draft.
