Burning Redshirts

Is there a a way to stop the cpu from auto subbing in players you are redshirting?

Re: Burning Redshirts

I never have this problem. In my experience, if you have enough depth at every position to fill out your depth chart, a player redshirting will never be subbed in. Key is to make sure each individual position has unique backups (so, not the same guy backing up both left guard and right guard, no backup HB also listed as the backup FB, distinct backups for all linebacker spots, etc). So when the CPU puts in backups or fills out your special teams, each backup spot is accounted for and the CPU doesn't have to pull beyond the depth chart.

I don't even bother using actual redshirts anymore, even with teams I sim 100% of games. I just make sure they're not on the depth chart and the depth chart is set up to ensure every spot is accounted for.

Re: Burning Redshirts

I have enough depth. The problem is when the cpu mass subs. It pulls anyone in regardless of redshirt status

Re: Burning Redshirts

Go in to depth chart and manually change it after the mass subs.

Re: Burning Redshirts

Take those guys out of your depth chart completely. They shouldn’t sub in with mass subs unless they’re second string on your depth chart.

Re: Burning Redshirts

They aren’t in the depth chart. I’ve stopped doing mass sub manually because I know it puts them in. The cpu will mass sub on their own and it puts them on the depth chart even though they have been tagged as redshirt players.

As far as taking them out after the cpu mass subs, sometimes you don’t notice they made the change until it’s too late. They will have already played a special teams down.

Just wish they would be removed from any spot on the depth chart if they are tagged.

Re: Burning Redshirts

I have also used mass sub manually and then had the cpu mass sub again to bring all of my redshirts in.

Re: Burning Redshirts

Hit the mass sub button. Then adjust your depth chart.
