Shot timing and shot settings struggle

Can someone help me with these? I am a shot button player. I am struggling to find settings that work for me. I generally turn off all of the visual clue stuff so it looks more like real life. My issue is that I have tried different settings and none of them seem to work with consistent results. I can do the same thing twice and the results shot wise are different. I am trying to find settings that are a little more forgiving and allow the shots to go down more consistently when you do the same thing.

Thank you in advance. I love this game and find it super hard to play with shooting the way it is.

Have you tried rhythm shooting? I believe were all in the same boat as you and 2k is pushing rhythm shooting this year. I believe it has a wider window for making shots vs buttons.

Or like he previous user mentioned, sliders. Success sliders should help but there is a few settings in the 2nd category that should help with contested shots.

What difficulty are you playing?

I feel like low risk-low reward is pretty consistent with me and I shoot with button and use real player FG %

I can’t figure out the layup meter for anything. Let it fill up its green one time, let it almost fill up second time and it’s green. I don’t understand similar thing happens with tempo on rhythm with no meter.

I tried to play with normal and high for layups. Offline it's great. Offline hell no.

Where is rhythm shooting? I don't see it in the controller settings area.
