Body Sensitivity and Other Sliders for More Blocks

Does increasing body sensitivity for user increase the chances of triggering the hip hugging animation for your defender and increase the chances of making a block? I am trying to increase blocks for user controller player and trying to see what sliders I can change aside from blocks. Any thoughts?

Re: Body Sensitivity and Other Sliders for More Blocks

Increasing Body Up for the User makes it more likely for an animation to trigger when the User dribbles into (or close to) the defender. I suppose more hip-ride style animations could possibly lead to more blocked layups since the defender is attached to the dribbler.

Lots of sliders can help with blocks: Defensive Awareness, Speed and Agility, Defense Strength settings, etc. But the main issue is just how important the Block rating is, as increasing any of these other sliders to help average defenders get a block here or there tends to make elite blockers ridiculously OP.

In my testing I would get average teams playing good defense, but then I’d face the Thunder or the Mavs or any other team with an elite blocking big and it was pointless to even attempt a layup if the big was anywhere in the vicinity. Just block after block after block. Kind of cool, kind of annoying [emoji28]

This is helpful, thank you. A few follow ups: does increasing it also result in more animations where the defender gets crossed up? I feel like that seems to happen a lot too. Also, if I wanted to increase more hip riding animations when I am playing defense, I assume I increase the slider for user and not CPU, correct?

I’ve never actually paid attention to the ankle break animations in relation to Body Up, so I’m not sure! I’m sure it leads to more ankle break animations when you do a step back out of a hip ride and the defender just keeps stumbling forward, so there’s that.

As for which side it effects, think of the slider as effecting the dribbler. So for the CPU dribbler to get more contact animations, you’d want to increase the CPU’s Body Up slider.
