I will give em a try. I think the game has a lot of potential. I like the goal varations (always scored the same way in 24) and the skating/positioning. However, I didnīt like the checking and aggression (35-25 hits is way too much). Are you happy with it or do you consider lowering these sliders? I had checking on 10 and aggression on 10 btw.)
Back for another year. The first thing I did was drop the game speed to 0. It is crazy that they have Speed set at 4 out of the box. As always you know, I've been using your sliders for years. They work for me, so I am happy to see you have a Testing Set up. Here's to another great year.
Things I've noticed:
- the game is fast. Skating, passing, etc.
- I think passing accuracy and shooting accuracy are too high out of the box.
- penalties (other than tripping) needs to be bumped up.
These are a few things I've picked up so far.
I think the game looks beautiful, especially when it's slowed down. I wish they allowed us to edit the camera options like the old EA NHL games. I miss that feature.
As always, I will be following the thread. Thanks for doing another slider set this year.
I'm trying to wrap up a season on Madden and then will be spending much more time on NHL
I wanted to get a set up for testing purposes and the past few years I've just been starting where I left the sliders off from the previous year and it seems to work well.
Appreciate the feedback and will absolutely be making changes to the sliders over the next couple weeks with a goal of having them be "Franchise Ready" for the start of the regular season
Alright.....about to play a test game right now and will post a recap with box score and some video so that people can actually see the game in action, get a feel for the flow/speed of play, etc.
Test Game #1 will be the Boston Bruins (me) at Seattle Kraken (CPU) from Climate Pledge Arena
RECAP
The Bruins killed off a pair of early penalties with some solid work from the PK unit and Seattle failed to take advantage of two early PP opportunities. Boston started to generate chances as Joey Daccord was forced to make a point blank save on Matthew Poitras and the Bruins would open the scoring when John Beecher used his speed to get around Tolvanen and took the puck strong to the net sneaking a backhand through Daccord to give Boston a 1-0 lead with 11:57 left in the 1st period. The Bruins carried the play for period but we would go to the 1st intermission with Boston leading 1-0 and out-shooting Seattle 15-5
The Kraken were playing much better in the early stages of the 2nd period earning a PP opportunity after Mark Kastelic was called for tripping but Seattle could not cash in on the PP and Boston returned to even strength. The score remained 1-0 until midway through the period when Will Borgen took a slashing penalty to put Boston on the PP and they would score 0:12 left on the man advantage when Brad Marchand carried the puck down low and found big Justin Brazeau in the slot for a one timer to make it 2-0 with 9:16 remaining in the 2nd period. Joonas Korpisalo came up with a big save to deny Jaden Schwartz on a breakaway keeping it a 2-0 game and Brazeau would get called for tripping to put Seattle on the PP with 3:32 left in the period. The Kraken had some good looks on the man advantage and Korpisalo made some tough saves including a point blank save on a Jared McCann chance but McCann would collect his own rebound and score on the second chance for a PP goal cutting the Bruins lead to 2-1 with 2:23 still to play in the 2nd period. Daccord made a great save to deny David Pastrnak in the final minute and the 2nd period came to an end with the Bruins leading 2-1 while the shots were now 21-16 in favor of Boston
The Bruins entered the 3rd period protecting a 2-1 lead and Seattle had an incredible chance just over a minute into the 3rd period when Matty Beniers grabbed a loose puck and walked in alone but was tripped as he got the shot off by Nikita Zadorov as Korpisalo made the save but Beniers was awarded a penalty shot. Korpisalo came up with another huge stop as he denies Beniers on the penalty shot keeping it a 2-1 game with 18:58 to play. Seattle had the momentum and was carrying the play leading to another PP opportunity as Max Jones was sent to the box for tripping with 15:32 remaining. The Kraken had a couple good looks on the PP but Korpisalo made saves on shots by Burakovsky and McCann and the PK unit did the rest as Boston returned to even strength with 13:32 to play. The clock ticked down under 10:00 to play in regulation with Boston clinging to a 2-1 lead and the Bruins would get a PP opportunity after a terrible slashing penalty away from the play by Shane Wright with 8:59 remaining. The Kraken would force Korpisalo to cover the puck setting up a faceoff in the Boston end of the ice and Seattle would score a shorthanded goal right off the faceoff as Oliver Bjorkstrand won the draw to Andre Burakovsky who fired a quick shot that Korpisalo got a piece of but the puck would bust through and bounce over the goal line to tie the game up 2-2 with 8:11 left to play. The clock ticked down to the final 5:00 of regulation with the score tied 2-2 and Daccord made a big save on Charlie Coyle who walked into the slot with 2:18 left setting up a faceoff in the Seattle defensive zone. The Bruins and Kraken were both playing with sound defensive structure and the clock ticked down towards the final minute of play when Matthew Poitras and Justin Brazeau converged on Brandon Montour in the neutral zone in front of the Seattle bench to create a turnover and Poitras collected the loose puck and curled away before making an outstanding effort play as Poitras carried the puck with speed to the net with Jamie Oleksiak and Adam Larsson both hacking at him and beat Daccord with a move to his backhand for an unassisted goal to give Boston a 3-2 lead with 0:57 left to play in regulation. The Kraken would pull the goalie for the extra attacker and Morgan Geekie would put the game away with an empty net goal after he blocked a shot in the defensive zone before collecting the loose puck and scoring into the empty net with 0:17 left to give Boston a 4-2 victory
GAME NOTES
* I am very happy with how the sliders played and felt in this game
