Re: NHL 25 Player Ratings Week Begins - Top Left and Right Wingers

Unfortunate OVR were not fixed as it seems the same old system where we will likely see random forwards with 80+ faceoff (and like 40% irl) because it boosts their overall.

The top 3 wingers all have mid 80s defense when we KNOW these dudes aren't great at it and often straight up DONT play d.

Something I don't understand.
If McDavid is the fastest skater why only 96?
For overalls I can see how some ratings might bring it down but for an individual rating like speed, slap shot power if they are the best in the NHL they need to be 99.
It makes no sense to artificially hold them lower, making all the top players much more condensed instead of having the truly elite stand out just a bit.

I always edit my rosters so it doesn't matter much but just doesn't make sense.

Same reason why players who don't play d have high defensive ratings. Or bad faceoff players with 80+ faceoffs since for some reason faceoffs is extremely valued for OVR calculation. Doesn't make sense why it feels like different positions aren't weighted properly by stats that matter. At least in fifa you will see dudes with like 5-30 defensive stats.

Here? Everyone apparently is Barkov-lite.

Y'all can thank Shawn Chambers for the crappy ratings we see today.

After this, it was pretty much "never again"

Certain stats remain the same for all players. Outside of your star players, they don’t really tweak or change many of the attributes across the roster.

It’s one of the larger issues with the franchise since every player is pretty much the same speed with the same awareness and plenty of other stats that are the same.

No Jordan Binnington in the top 10, it's not his fault our defense is terrible.

Player faces look real, hopefully we get some game play soon.
