Who is still shooting on high risk? And why?

A lot of us complained about the unrealistic shooting percentages on open shots ever since 2k started with perfect releases.

Guys were shooting 60 to 70 percent from on open 3s, and you could turn a poor shooter into a great shooter by perfecting a release.

With the new shooting options you can now go back to guys missing open shots, and more realistic jump shooting numbers. On Normal risk, normal reward you can’t green every shot. Even with a perfect release.

WHO will keep using the high risk and high reward shooting option, now that we have options a more realistic option? And why?

Online players will, surely. Mostly an ego thing IMO, they assume it means timing is more difficult and therefore if they green everything then they’re basically a pro (the mindset that is killing modern online gaming, but I digress).

Do the other shot timing profiles really make it harder to green shots? I’m using Low Risk-Reward, and I thought the only difference was that “Slightly Early/Slightly Late” timed shots go in at a higher rate. It effects your ability to green them as well?

It does affect your green window. High risk has a bigger green window

Interesting. So I should assume Low Risk has the smallest green window? That’s fantastic if so.

I was of the opinion that difficulty level ( pro, allstar etc…) was the deciding factor of green window
And risk is just timings penalties

There’s an option to use difficulty based timing as well

2k lab did a breakdown, and I can confirm from playing that it is more than that. High risk has a bigger green window AND a 100 percent pure green window.

Normal risk has no pure green window. Even if you time the shot perfectly, there is only a 60 percent chance it will green. This, there is no purely green window.

High risk has a 100 percent green window. Normal does not. That’s the key difference more than the green window size.

That is correct. Difficulty can affect window size, but it doesn’t affect pure green window versus non pure green window.

this makes sense for the park and stuff but not pno where you literally have to know the jumpshots for like 200+ players and constantly using new teams i hate how all this park and myplayer stuff has trickled down into the nba game. they shoulda just left it without all these shooting options that are just making everything more complicated
