Depth chart?

Is there an issue with depth charts? If I use Bama I try to sub out Alexander for Russaw in the depth chart but Alexander is still on the field. Only way to get this sub is do do it during the formation screen. Which you have little time to make the sub.

Re: Depth chart?

This’d be much easier to answer if you used positions rather than names that only Bama fans (or maybe SEC fans) would know, but I’ll try.

Look at your entire depth chart. If those guys are HBs, check your 3DHB or PWRB spots. If they’re WRs, check your SLWR. If they’re DL, check RLE, RRE, or RDT as applicable. If they’re LBs, check SUBLB. If they’re corners, check SLCB.

They are both LB’s. What I thought would work is I went to depth chart looked for Alexander’s name and just replaced him with Russaw another Lb. Why wouldn’t that just switch them?

If you just do it in the LOLB, MLB and ROLB he could be in RLE, RRE or SubLB.

There are specialty positions that are formation specific. A couple examples are RushRE/LE/DT that are supposed to be better pass rushers than run stoppers that are used in formations that are generally pass defenses (most nickel and dime formations us these rather than LE, RE, and DT).

Another is SUBLB which is basically the LB equivalent of the RRE, RLE, RDT. Once again most nickels and dimes use this as well as 4-2-5 and others.

If you replace a guy in your ROLB spot of the depth chart, but don’t also change him in the SUBLB spot (or even RRE or RLE as those are sometimes LBs instead of DEs) then he’ll still play in the formations that use SUBLB. These formations can be prevalent too. I have a 4-2-5 custom playbook with both 4-2-5s, 3 nickels, and 2 dimes and NONE of those formations use LOLB, MLB, or ROLB. They all use the SUBLB position.

I will have to look. I was noticing that in the db’s as well. I thought I looked everywhere but maybe not
