Lateral on kickoffs?

Are you talking about the trick play return?
It's a handoff. You have to run just slightly in front of / by the guy with the L1 above his head and hand it off to him.

I've tried it a bunch and never gotten the exchange to work. Its probably just positioning as stated above.

If you're talking about the handoff, the mesh point is always at the 21 yard line. You just have too try and time it up.
