I suck at kicking!

I haven't struggled so bad at kicking in my life. How do I improve?! This new mechanic is owning me and so many of my field goals aren't just missing, they look ridiculous

Are you using Tap and Hold of Tap and Tap? I find Tap and Tap to be more natural (although it’s preference and I got used to Tap and Hold too).

Don’t max out every kick, when you do you get that random direction thing where you don’t know where it’s going.

Yeah, for most reasonable length kicks, if you have it anywhere in or near the arrowhead you'll be just fine. It's only when you start pushing high-40s or 50+ yarders that you might have to try to get max power. Even kickoffs you really don't have to push it too far. If it's anywhere in the arrowhead it's going to go a pretty decent ways.

When I was playing my Wyoming Dynasty I kept on changing it to tap and tap but whenever I get in the game it would revert to tap and hold

Thats a known bug.

For what its worth, i suck at kicking too. Lost a few games due to missed field goals, and definitely lost momentum on others.

I've resorted to just going in and practicing them in the practice menu. I've never had to do this with a sports game in my life

Was just going to suggest this. This is what I did a month ago, went in to practice mode and kicked more balls than a typical soccer friendly. Walked out better for it but I'm no where near perfect. Wouldn't have it any other way.
