Team Ratings Boost

I like to do a lot of CPU vs CPU for my dynasty and just recently noticed that when ever I pick a team their ratings have massive boosts.

For example I just switched to App State. They were a 78 OVR-77 OFF-79 DEF. When I created their coach and went in to watch their game they were suddenly 84-84-85? Not sure if anyone else has seen this.

I haven’t seen this specifically but my team is rated something like 85-85-85 despite only having maybe 2 players over 85 on the whole team and those guys only like 86-87 and my qb is only an 80. So I don’t really know how those team overalls are calculated.

I think they hit upon what’s happening. When a new season starts teams’ ratings aren’t refreshed and they show what they were the last time they were refreshed. I’ve seen this with Michigan who is an 87/87/87 in 2024, 2025, 2026, etc.

But if you look at a team’s depth chart or play them in a game, then the ratings refresh to their actual values. Because of this, in week 0 I always go to every team’s depth chart solely to refresh their values.

So, it’s very likely that App St’s 78 OVR rating was the old value, and when you went to play them it refreshed to the accurate value of 84. If this is from 2024, then this might not be the case, but I don’t know if the initial 2024 ratings are stale.
