What I don't understand about historic draft classes is player appearance.

So a perfect example of this is D'angelo russell. In 2k16 they had an accurate scan of his rookie season, including his hair and body.

However, if you try to use that historic.draft class in 2k24 it uses his current appearance/hair as his rookie appearance.

Is it possible to get a point where those rookie appearances can be maintained, so you can actually accurately represent how these guys looked as rookies?

If you go into players edit you can change the hair on some players. I believe if you click on accessories or something like that it'll be the top option I believe.

I know I sound like a PC shill but if you want this level of realism you simply have to do so via mods. This depth of realism won't be part of the default game until we get to the point of AI organically aging player likenesses forwards and backwards.

When 2K updates its player likenesses, it's not just upd@ting them stylistically; it's a quality thing too, and most gamers would rather use an anachronistic but higher-quality likeness than a stylistically accurate but lower-quality likeness. (The technical nature of the player models change, too, necessitating conversion, but that's not really an issue for 2K if they wanted to keep the likeness around. I'm sure it's more a quality thing.)

Yes it can be inconsistent there though. Some guys like Kareem you have to download his oldest appearance manually and overwrite, same with bald Mourning.

I think they added a younger Gary Payton this year with hair, but it also broke the automatic changes for a lot of guys? He didn't go bald until I did it myself. Ewing didn't adopt the flat top. I know this stuff worked well enough last year, but the micromanagement seems to have increased for some reason.
