BIG North

Hey guys,

I want to create a new Conference called BIG North. (At least in my head)

Why BIG North? I just feel the North is a little underrepresented in the FBS. And i long dreamed about a real Northern Conference. With alot of the stadiums being dome's its also kinda unique. Plus the great names and jersey's. I mean common: the Vandals, Jackrabbits or Bison. Who doesnt love that?
Finally the northern teams would have a home.

This is how it would look like:

BIG North

Boise State (Broncos) 38,000 seats
Idaho (Vandals) 16,000
Iowa (Hawkeyes) 69,250
Iowa State (Cyclones) 61,500
Minnesota (Gophers) 50,805
Montana (Grizzlies) 25,217
Montana State (Bobcats) 20,767
Nebraska (Cornhuskers) 90,000
North Dakota State (Bison) 19,000
Northern Iowa (Panthers) 17,190
South Dakota State (Jackrabbits) 19,340
Weber State (Wildcats) 17,312
Wisconsin (Badgers) 75,822
Wyoming (Cowboys) 30,181

That would make it 14 teams. For me at least 6 Powerhouses with Boise, Iowa, Iowa State, Minnesota, Nebraska and Wisconsin. Plus 2 real good teams and FCS Champions with North Dakota State and South Dakota State.

Here are some potential candidates i also had in mind:

Drake 14,557

And for a smaller conference:

Eastern Washington (Eagles) 8,600
Idaho State (Bengals) 12,000
Northern Colorado (Bears) 8,533
North Dakota (Fighting Hawks) 12,283
Portland State (Vikings) 7,600
South Dakota (Coyotes) 9,100

So what do you think? Any other teams? Any ideas?

Big thanks btw to all the Teambuilders. So we can play with those teams.

Re: BIG North

I would put Wisconsin in over several of the options.

Re: BIG North

As a Northern Colorado grad (and I created a Teambuilder team of Northern CO) I am partial to you adding them in there!

Aren't most of those teams Big Sky Conference? Really wish we could create our own Conferences and even add a logo(s), etc.

Side notes:

I'd like to be able to make conferences smaller with North/South, East/West divisions and championship games, etc. I'd like to see no more than 12 teams per conference with proper divisions.

Re: BIG North

@ DorianDonP: Yeah i agree, after looking at the stadium sizes again. I think South Dakota, Idaho State or North Dakota could go out for Wisconsin and maybe Nebraska.

@ ztloudenburg: Thanks for your creation bro. I was thinking about Northern Colorado, but the small stadium could be a problem. I want to keep it a bit realistic with minimum 15,000 to get in the FBS. But i concider them to put them into a smaller conference.

@ BoiseBroncos2024: Well 4 teams yes. Creating your own conferences would be amazing, i agree. I also use Divisons sometimes, but im using a relegation system wich makes Divisons sometimes harder.
