Holding calls very inconsistent

I have holdings set to 58 which is suggested my multiple sliders in this forum. But they seem very hit or miss. I will go an entire game without a holding call but then the next game get called for 10. Then the next game maybe 2, then the next game 10 again. Over time it averages out but I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.

You’ll notice more holding calls on outside runs or sweeps than anything else. But yes it’s inconsistent.

I have it at like 75 and I get plenty on me but VERY rarely on the CPU. most penalties are actually on me somehow. My RB actually got an illegal block in the back somehow while running in a TD

That is why, I usually don't change the penalty sliders a lot. I tried, though. But like in all football games, I've played so far, higher penalty sliders are leading to more penalties for you, not the cpu.

The cpu got 1 or 2 per game, I got 5 or 6 per game.

It’s funny, I think in my games the cpu gets called for penalties more than me in most games. I have never had a game where I didn’t see a single holding penalty, seem to get a reasonable amount each game although I have moved down to 60 on the slider as with higher did feel like happening a bit much for me and I do agree, at least me as the human player, I see them more on stretch and outside runs, which is a big part of my offense. So I suspect the amount of penalties driven partially by the type of offense being run.

I have noticed holding penalties happen more when someone blitzes. Trying to find a spot where that doesn’t happen a lot.

Its like EA took the cliche "ref's can call holding on every play if they wanted to." and applied it to their game.

You get them more on the road and against opponents with better players than you. If you have bad matchups on the o-line, you get more holding calls against you.
