Recruiting tips for small schools

I watched a few Toutube videos, but mostly from my own experience. I had #17 class S1 with FAU, S2 shaping up even better. Playing on All-American and SuperSim all games.

-Check Your School page to see what style players will make you better at each position
-Stick to your pipelines initially… they’re also multipliers on recruiting
-Pick playbooks from better schools, improves playing style ratings
-Make your open schedule games easy… winning improves Championship Contender rating which is a common Deal Breaker… it fluctuates through the season & you get shutout by players if this goes below B-
-Different position & style players can have very different Playing Style ratings… this is another reason you must check Your School page for each position & style players
-Don’t recruit, just make offers to 4-stars
-Organize your board by need & position for sanity
-Fill your board since it gives you recruiting pitch info for guys on your list, but focus points on top targets
-Look to schedule visits as first thing each week… pair visits with sway & soft, or hard sell based on how you meet their needs
-Points stay up week to week unless you re-allocate
-Sway all day… this is how you build a strong pitch that suits your school
-Check each week to see if your sways & soft sells created a hard sell opportunity
-Don’t “Send the House” for 50… you get way more green arrows with Friends & Family(25)+ message player(10) + check social media(5)= 40
-Unlock all recruiting levels with coach points so you can be more efficient with points & allocate more than 50 to guys you want… make sure your coordinators are good at scheming
-Offer early to get on boards… recruiting is overrated & 4-star+ “busts” are still good
-Find players without offers later in season and attack… you rise fast on their lists
-Combo sway with soft sell when close, hard sell once you have all greens
-Aggressively go after guys with short bars for other schools with offers & recruiting hours, you go right to the top 2
-WRs over RBs
-Go after athletes, they may be able to switch positions

I’m learning as I go, so this list is evolving. Happy to hear what else works.

This is a very important point. I was recruiting a player against another G5 school when I was at ULM (I think I was competing against Coastal Carolina). Neither school had a pipeline value. We both got about halfway with him after 10 weeks, but he never narrowed his schools from 8 until a school with a 3 value started recruiting him. He signed with them.

Thank you for this observation. I think I will try it.
