HDR on or off?

Curious how many people play with it on and how many play with it off. I seem to play most games with it off. I play on Xbox Series X with a 55-inch LG OLED TV and with HDR most games come off too dark with it on.

How do you turn it on? It wouldn’t switch to HDR for me automatically. Is there a toggle? PS5.

Re: HDR on or off?

Whatever the default setting is, I left it that way. Maybe its time I looked at it the other way.

I unfortunately have an Xbox Series X so I have no idea as it pertains to the PS5. I'm really sorry, I wish I could answer your question.

Some games look much better with HDR on and some look much better with it off it just depends what game and also, your setup.

All good thanks for the response. In my experience, games automatically switch to HDR (2k/Madden for example). This game for whatever reason does not switch to HDR on the PS5. Maybe day one patch will address idk.

Re: HDR on or off?

I play with it on, on my xsx. I've had it off, and it's brighter, but just not trying to mess with things so much.

I tried to play with it off, and it didn't seem to make a positive difference. I really want to stick with Game Optimizer, but I have it set with HGIG and it makes it kinda dark since EA's football games don't have an in-game HDR setting you can control. I normally use Dynamic Tone Mapping On, but since the last update for the LG C2 that ASBL has been brutal. So, if I'm at a part of the field that's shaded, the picture will dim until I'm in light again and I hate it! I hate the day I upgraded the WebOS. Sorry for the rant. I say all that to say, i'm sticking with Game Optimizer with HDR On.
