Why is the file so small? (32.4gb installed on xsx)

madden24 was 54gb on xsx.

cfb25 is more of everything. it's only 32.4gb?

I have a theory...and could be absolutely wrong on it. But, my theory is, the retail copies of the game for the athletes that opted in, content creators etc. are being received. The disc doesn't contain the complete game. NBA 2k is like that. If you have the physical disc, you download what's up there, and then you have to be online in order for the rest to be downloaded. I believe that this is what this is. I'm thinking when all is said and done, the game will be between 55-60 gb.

Again, i could be totally wrong on this. But, whatever the case is, I have downloaded it, and also copied it onto my external HDD, so that if in the future a patch breaks the game, I'll have this to be able to play offline with my physical copy.

With all that they've packed into this game, if the total file size is 32.4gb, then they did an amazing job. Unless, I just don't understand how all of this works.

Is it because madden has all the hi res face scans? Seems like that would take up a lot of space

That makes sense since they also have to pack a lot of real and generic players on the team.

I only question file sizes when they're over 100GB.

I don't know how accurate this could be, but someone else on here said that b/c they built a new game engine that the file size could definitely be smaller since they aren't essentially building/layering on top of old code year after year after year, etc.
