When Do You Think We Will Get NCCA 2K Bball back?

With NCAA Football coming next month, how long do you think it'll take for a Bball game to come back moat likely from 2k?

Not holding my breath. Unlike college football, college basketball game did not sell well. It stopped being made because of lack of sales not the lawsuit. At least that’s the word. I would love one but prospects don’t look good.

I feel like once CFB 25 releases and is a success then the wheels will start turning. Pretty soon, the schools will be sharing revenue with the players. It’s more money for them all, even if it isn’t as much as what the football players will get. I honestly feel like 2K will do something in a few years as long as all the legalities are taken care of.

I get the argument that the old games didn’t sell great. That’s true. But the gaming market, and 2Ks basketball footprint, is significantly larger now. I see no reason why 2K couldn’t expect a College Hoops game to do 30% of what NBA 2K does. 30% of Madden is reportedly what EA expects CFB25 to do and would deem it successful. I know football is more popular, but Madden and NBA 2K do about the same numbers every year so it not crazy.

I honestly think 2k wiped their hands with college sports
They had 10 years to prepare to fight for college football rights
So it's more than likely EA might try basketball in few years imo
But we shall will see🤷

Agreed. It peaked when College Hoops 2k5 came out, but after that the interest just died out.

I agree if you’re talking about college basketball, only. But I do think there is a market for another licensed AAA online basketball game.


I could see a game with NBA Live 19s The One online gameplay where you play all over the world doing well. Or even 2K just simplifying things and going back to the Park and build system (and VC prices) from 2K16–2K18. Why not blend the games and make it a modern NBA Street style arcade game. First person basketball? Why not?

Now is it worth the time and money a potential NCAA license game costs. Probably not.
