And going on record to say they want to deliver the best franchise mode in sports
is normally not discussed during these media events leading up to the game.

Go Josh Go.

Franchise and presentation junkies unite! Can’t say I’ve been this pumped for a Madden game since Madden 10.

Very curious to hear more about the season-long storylines feature, especially if it will enable actually developing a rookie quarterback by sitting him on the bench behind a veteran (the example given in the interview).

In basically every Madden game ever, the optimal way to develop a rookie QB is to get him on the field immediately at the expense of all else. If there are other viable gameplay paths for that now, that's an unambiguous positive.

That'll definitely be a decision that I'll have to make regarding Drake Maye in my New England Patriots Franchise. Do I start him from Day 1 or sit him for a season and let Brissett start with year 1 pretty much being a throw away?
