Timing vs Directional

Has anyone noticed better results using Directional vs Timing?

I'm playing on MLB 23, and I was using the timing hitting setting. I would constantly get weak contact, and only hit singles.

Since moving to Directional, I've been seeing harder hits, and better results with more extra base hits, or even just better contact overall. I rarely even influence the direction..

I'm wondering if anyone has noticed a difference between the 2?

The only difference is that it might work better for you.

This is highly dependent on the TV youre using and it's input delay

Re: Timing vs Directional

I was always a Timing guy. But I started using the Directional pad this year to influence swings based on a hitter's tendency and it's taken this game to a whole new level. I basically follow 3K Gaming's Directional hitting guide in their Slider Thread. I'm seeing a ton more hit variety and striking out a lot less by holding the opposite direction when there's 2 strikes on me.

I have no evidence to back this up but I also found that when I used Timing I was getting weaker hits and less variety. When I switched to Directional - and I rarely move the stick to influence the swing, just swing like I would with Timing - I found that hits were more solid and more variety. Like I said, it's all anecdotal but I found the same thing.

I think I need a new controller, I think mine is infected with stick drift because I feel like timing is better for me this year because on direction, when I'm NOT trying to influence, the controller is trying to influence any way.

I once had a girlfriend that left me over my stick drift.

Stick drift is a very real problem that can happen to any man regardless of age.
