Not sure I have settings correct

I just bought NHL 24 X-Factor, I use a PS4 Pro and I'm playing Be A Pro and none of the things that I see on YouTube videos are working for me. ie.

When I press L2 it should show the buttons over players head and if I press a button then let go of L2 the pass should go tot hat player, it doesn't show those buttons over the heads?

None of the shots except snap shot seem to work for me in Be A Pro, I can use them in Free Skate and practice but in the Be a pro nothing seems to work. So I end up carrying the puck and shooting on the goalie when I can and playing defense.

Is there any place to see what others are using for settings in Be A Pro? I try to watch YouTube but 99% of those guys are just showing what they do or how to do something but I feel they are talking about playing online for the most part.

Any info will be appreciated.

Re: Not sure I have settings correct

Passing is done with R2 (not L2) on PS4. Pressing it and holding it will bring it up the icon passing.

I would go into controller settings in game to make sure you’re on the same control scheme as in practice.

You have to hold R2 for them to show up. Continue to hold it even after you make a pass if you want the button icons to stay up. Just pressing it will only pass the puck and if you release it even after an icon pass, the icons go away.

Are you using Total Control, Skill Stick, or Hybrid?

Yeah, I would check your control scheme, because i think only Total Control allows for the icon passing.
