Joe Burrow (or Bengals) in CPU vs CPU

I have been working on a set of CPU vs CPU sliders for franchise mode, however, I have noticed that EVERY time I watch Joe Burrow play against Cleveland in Franchise mode, he's completion percentage is ALWAYS over 80%, some times over 90%. He is the only quarterback who is so consistently unstoppable in CPU vs CPU. Anybody else notice anything similar?

It’s true

Lower his injury rating, so he gets hurt, that’s what I do so he doesn’t blow out Franchise Records. EA got that dude programmed to throw over 300 every game.

If you are on a PC then the Sabo gameplay mod dedicated to CPU vs CPU is really good.

As part of testing the different versions of the mod that Sabo produced, I constantly reran week 1. Including Bengals vs Browns. I checked my notes on this.

Last 3 runs before the official version Burrow threw for:
34/24 - 264 yards, 1 Int
30/28 - 275 yards - 0 Int
33/22 - 262 yards - 1 Int.

All seem pretty reasonable.

Appreciate that is no good if you are not on a PC. But if you are on a PC then Sabo CPU vs CPU mod is the way to go.

No need to kneecap the poor bloke! (although realistic sadly given the recent news on his season)

Using how many minutes per Quarter?

I play with 9 minute quarters, no accelerated clock. QB accuracy is at 5 and WR Catch is at 75, currently.

Even the numbers posted by British Bronco are too, in my opinion, as far as completion % goes. 76% is way higher than other QB, and I've ran more than enough tests to get a representative sample.

I go with 12 mins and 18 runoff at the moment, but am still testing lots of things with the mod so that may change.

76% is too high, currently Purdy and Dak are on 70% at the moment at the top of the real life NFL. So it needs to come down a bit. Although I would expect Madden Joe Burrow and his 3 highly rated WR's (Chase, Boyd and Higgins) to generate above average stats consistently and be near the top of the league. The Madden ratings for his OL are also better than real life I think so he should stay upright more.

There might be an elephant in the room here, and that is Superstar Abilities. Burrow has Set Feet Lead as one of his abilities, and I've seen Youtubers like WinMadden claim this SS ability is OP (at least in online matches)

I am going to try and test all the SS abilities over the course of the next few months and see how each one performs and the extent to which it influences CPU vs CPU games (using Sabo's mod). I'd like to lab each ability via controlled experiments. Will post my results here on OS, once I have meaningful data.

General consensus amongst the beta testers was that Pick Artist and Inside Stuff were way too OP on the defensive side for example. Not had a chance to test properly the offensive ones, but will get on it shortly.

One test you could try is edit Burrow's abilities and see if you get the same high scoring OP results consistently? Would be very interesting to see.

I believe Burrow is a programming issue, it's like he has X-Factor build in, a couple of other top-rated QB's have the same issue.

2 choices

1. Lower his ratings, which may include, maybe getting him hurt

2. Fast Sim his games after he starts trending high to avoid him from breaking crazy Records.

The Fast Sim stats are more conservative.
