Pressure system thoughts

Must admit I知 loving it. Adds strategy to gameplay. Now I知 thinking about which lines to roll at certain points in the game (top lines when under pressure or on top). Even called a timeout in my last game halfway through period 3 as I was in a close game, and needed a goal. My top line were gassed but wanted them on the ice. I knew it would replenish the AI fatigue levels as well but wanted to take that risk.

Just need the meter off the ice and somewhere else. Maybe on the scoreboard at the bottom?

Re: Pressure system thoughts

It does add a element of danger to the game for your defense. You really have to limit the time that the offense has in the zone with the puck. It makes your neutral zone defense a lot more important because if you keep letting them in the zone they are going to get the pressure up.

My only complaint is that perhaps they should lessen the effect of it some and it would be perfect. I think it is just a little too powerful.

I agree with this. A slider that would allow you to change the amount of effect this had on players so you could customize to your preference would be ideal. Then is you don't want it to have any effect you can choose that or if you want it to have a huge effect you can set that as well.

Fatigue effect can do this to some extent. I've been playing a lot of games with it down on 50 instead of the default 70 and I notice way fewer cases of full pressure resulting in one team just getting completely pinned in their own end and eventually the goalie giving up a goal. It still happens, just not as often, which is more ideal for me as I like to play 10 minute periods. I'm sure it has that effect because the exhaust engine is directly tied to fatigue and when you raise the "floor" for what a player's performance can be when tired, multiply it by 10 skaters on the ice (and 2 goalies, though that's a different topic) and even just a small change on that slider can make a big impact on game flow.

It's a global slider, meaning you can't set it seperately for human or CPU. So if you feel that it the effect gets unfairly tilted against the human at times, you might have to find some middle ground with the slider

Thanks for this tip . This is exactly what I think the pressure gauge needs. Decreasing the fatigue effect will in turn lessen the effect of the full pressure scenario.

It is definitely something that can experimented with over the course of the next year

Every NHL game already had this. The fatigue effect covers it. Kudos to them for trying something new but when your goalie freezes the puck, both teams change lines and the new face-off is still under full pressure, that's just dumb.

Re: Pressure system thoughts

Pressure system is good idea, but it happens too much. If it was 0-4 times/game it would be realistic, but now its happening 10-20 times/game.

Also give us option to turn it off from showing on ice.

These are exactly my thoughts. They should atleast take 1/4 or 1/3 off the pressure meter when the goalie freezes the puck.
