I've been really enjoying FC 24, the presentation is just superb and the game makes it seem like, well it's a real game with big stakes, which got me thinking, I hope EA's College Football can be more like this game and less like Madden in the excitement department.

These are all from FC 24 on PC in career mode

Don't get your hopes up, EA FC is a worldwide phenomenon. EA College Football is basically going to be a port of Madden

While that makes a bit of sense, and I'm not getting them up really too high, I do recall that NCAA football was always worlds better at emotion, remember the camera shake and the mascots running onto the field, and other things of that nature.

I'd be happy if it was half as good as FC 24 because that game makes me a huge soccer fan and...I really know most of what I know about soccer through the video games, LOL

I didn't realize EA FC had such good lighting. Did they revamp it lately? Been 4 or so years since I last played Fifa.

What they use to power the crowd in that series is definitely what they need for EA CFB, though. Without a doubt. It is worlds better in those videos than anything Madden offers. It's also closer to what you'd expect from a collegiate crowd vs a pro crowd as well.

Here's to hoping they realize our wishes.

I'm definitely a casual when it comes to soccer and have limited understanding when it comes to the rules and deep strategy of the game; but when it comes to presentation, I love what they've done in terms of their being no real wasted time before, during, or after the game. Before the game they show fans, entering the stadium or a shot of the locker room where the players are getting ready. Instead of a bland menu screen waiting for you to Resume Game, they show highlights. At the end of the game they show post game interview cutscenes, fans leaving, staff doing their thing. It really adds to the immersion IMO and as a guy who Spectates a lot, it was a very nice add. I would love to see that type of presentation in the college game. College football is all about pageantry. They have to nail that for sure.

Pretty sure it will not be a port. Correct me if I am wrong, but they are building this game from the ground up.

If it was a port, IMO it would have been out by now.

It's going to run on Frostbite like Madden and share a lot of technology with Madden. Things like Dynasty Mode and all the features within it as well as some other parts of the game are going to be built from the ground up, but we're not going to get something that plays completely different than Madden on the field.

Our best hope is that EA was proactive with this opportunity and used it to rework or create new systems that they neglected with Madden due to its short cycle with having to release annually. Like revamping line play or secondary play may be something EA wanted to do with Madden, but could not fit it in in one cycle. Maybe with the CFB game they used the years they knew they had to build things like that from the ground up and it will benefit both their football games.

Not going to hold my breath, but it was literally the perfect opportunity for EA to do just that.
