What's the consensus on Madden 24 gameplay?

I've been seeing people post how this year the gameplay is the best it's ever been (counting the PS2 era). I'm just perplexed, it's definitely a lot smoother and they added more animations but imo it's still a small upgrade over 23.

My experience I don't see or feel any physics. Players and the ball are constantly warped into each other. It's cringeworthy watching players get up from a tackle and it's a warped mess. We're still seeing a lot of the same problems from when they first switched to the Frostbite engine. Running feels a little better but it gets canceled out from how horrendous the line play is. I know it's beating a dead horse, but in 2023 EA hasn't figured out how to realistically display blocking, pocket formation, pressure from the d-line. WR and DB interactions still leave a lot to be desired. I don't really see WR fighting for the ball.

Gameplay is fantastic IMO, best ever. They finally got a lot of the physics right, both the players and the ball. Now the game plays a lot more unpredictable, which makes it much more enjoyable. The improved AI also means I can get a decent challenge at All-Pro now too so that's another big upgrade.

Really loving the game this year, have played it a lot on both PC and PS5.

Gameplay is probably the best it has been.

Still have legacy issues like no penalties and the CPU logic is still too simple and predictable.

Running the ball is still too easy by default due to blocking animations. Zone coverage is very hit or miss due to secondary play being so ancient.

It's a good Madden game that could be a great football game with polish in a few areas.

I haven't played every madden to date but this is might be the best in terms of gameplay. It's definitely not perfect on default but small changes to sliders makes a huge difference. Once you make those changes, passing and running is as good as it's every been in my opinion. Other aspects like drafting or presentation could be better but on the field, it's really great.

Best it’s been in awhile, but I do find the suction tackling and canned animations a bit frustrating. Sometimes it’ll look realistic, but loses its fun factor in the process. I like games a bit more twitchy and unpredictable.

I can’t comprehend how game play is considered so awesome when match coverage is broken. I will not play a game until it’s fixed. Also, just looking at run fits and leverage. Blockers with half the attributes of defenders are holding the edge. Under fronts are worthless. No wonder they can’t get this game right when people think this is football.
