Week 1 Discussion Thread

It’s been a looong 8 months but we finally made it, gentleman. Our Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays actually mean something now with Football back

It’s Rivalry Week for most teams but there’s still some interesting non-Rivalry matchups going on. Make sure y’all tune in at 4:25 EST on Fox to watch us give little brother the yearly little brother treatment

Re: Week 1 Discussion Thread

Think the Chiefs throttle the Lions tomorrow night and let ‘em know they aren’t ready for the bright lights just yet. Must still be a thrill for Detroit though. I do have love for these downtrodden franchises who seem to have turned a corner with all the right pieces in place and a real plan and foundation in place. It’s amazing how fast it goes from “we’re just happy to be here!” to “anything less than a Super Bowl will be a disappointment.”

Week 1 is always a wild adventure. Something crazy will happen. I think this is the year we break a single game yardage or TD record (either a QB, WR, or RB). It’s amazing in this passing-oriented era that the most receiving yards ever hasn’t fallen yet. Didn’t realize we got close twice in the last 10 years, but the record remains at 339 from a game in 1989.

Other then that, would love to spoil the Jets opener on MNF. AFC East looks serious this season. Gotta pick up these wins and division wins early so you aren’t beholden to a math equation in Week 17 & 18.

Go Bills!

Re: Week 1 Discussion Thread

Nick Bosa is now the highest-paid defensive player at five years $170M ($122.5M guaranteed).

Wonder if he plays Sunday. Also wonder if Jones now looks to exceed that.

Re: Week 1 Discussion Thread

Quarterback money showing up on the defensive line.

SF will need him. Hargrave is a MONSTER inside and will free Bosa up a bit. He’s gonna earn those dollars.

Hey, if ya don’t pay your QB, and SF is in line to have a cheap QB room for a few years, you gotta maximize your dollars elsewhere while the window is open.

SF gotta be the only team with a heavier cap hit at RB then at QB.

Re: Week 1 Discussion Thread

Chiefs elevated two from the practice squad - TE Matt Bushman and DT Matt Dickerson.

Many taking that as the latest sign that Kelce (questionable) won't play.

Edit: Kelce out. Will officially miss his first game due to injury since his rookie year
