Whats the point of this release date if you can cheat?

Like i dont know any other games that work like this...Isnt the official release date supposed to be at 7pm est? You got people getting copies early from amazon so now they got days to play early, currently, you can pre order from game stop, and the code they give you, will allow you to play right now(this very second), you dont have to wait until 7pm which is the official release date time for pre orders.... so what is the point then? Anyone that pre ordered from somewhere else basically got scammed 8 hours of early access time...at this point just let everyone with a pre order to play right now, why punish people for buying from other stores instead of the specific ones that seem to be cheating this set release time.

What is causing such stupidity in regards to this game? Is this just bad luck? People getting copies early by mistake? Is gamestop just having some sort of promo or what? Cuz this is pretty scummy, cant seem to honor your own dates you set as a company, kinda sad tbh.

Third-party retailers have been breaking video game release street dates as long as I have been a member of this forum. This is not something EA Sports has direct control over.

Presumably, the reported early release by GameStop is a screw-up in GameStop's automated system which is working out in their customers' favor.

Either way, anyone who preordered anywhere will have the game tomorrow. This isn't worth getting angry about unless you literally work for one of GameStop's competitors.

Im not angry, i just think its kinda sad, and ive specifically only seen this happen with EA Madden, ive never seen it happen to any PC games.

Now im supposed to cancel my pre order thru PSN store just so i can hope to get a gamestop cheat code delivered to me so i can play with everyone else? This makes no sense, its like i gotta stand on the corner of my block dealing in madden copies to see if someone can hook me up, cuz normal means of purchase seem to be a disadvantage now.

You have the option to exercise some impulse control and wait until your preorder unlocks tomorrow.

PSN preorders are not refundable after the preload download starts anyway, so if your PS5 has initiated that download you can't get a refund.

The one person I saw get the game early from Amazon was the dude from the UK. The rest have been content creators. I ordered from Amazon that same day, and it's not going to arrive to me early. Not only that, for most people, even if they were able to play right now at this moment, they couldn't because they are at work. So, they aren't really losing anything by being able to play a few hours early. Like CM said, everybody will be able to play the game either tonight or tomorrow via pre-order or the EA Play trial. It's all good my guy.
