So this is the year that next gen (or current gen at this point) takes off and starts to reach its full potential. I still don't have a next gen console, but if this year's game is actually a real next gen one, I may consider buying a PS5 sooner than I thought I would.

If this feature works as described, I'd like to see something like this in the near future:

NBA 2k on PS5 and Series X actually isn't too far off from looking like this.

I would really like to see how that works, i guess that means a lot less MoCap

sounds very interesting, but i also have to say i cant really complain about 2Ks animations over the years, always liked them, APF 2K8 still amazes me

I hope that 2K Share is also going to become cross-platform too. 🫰

Re: NBA 2K24 Features ProPLAY Technology, Mamba Moments and Crossplay For PlayStation

I'm not sure if I fully understand what ProPLAY Technology means but I'm intrigued. Like, how would it manifest itself into 2K? I've heard folks reference a similar system in Madden but I'm not familiar. Like, if Cade Cunningham unveils a new signature move this year, is it as easy as 2K just capturing it on the go and sliding it into the game? Is there a limit to how often this can be done? Will it be seamless? Awkward? I guess that's where the wait-and-see comes in.

As a classics guy, I also couldn't help but imagine if this could somehow make it easier to mimic and implement more classic signature movements. Seeing what they did with a guy like Dennis Rodman last year was amazing (signature running style, signature celebrations, signature taunts, possibly signature rebound animations at times).

ProPLAY aside, I love to see them leaning into the Moments modes. They have such an amazing base of classic teams, players, and courts to play with now (the deepest any sports game has every seen), it's absolutely the right move to take advantage of all the work by putting those teams to use in various forms. Plus, it's a fresh enough mode to make me consider buying again right off the top (assuming Eras is still a part of the game).

As a single player guy, that'd be huge.
