SAPIEN and bent knees. Is this the year that Madden NPCs evolve upright walking?

For millions of years, NPCs in Madden have hovered between knuckle walking and the true upright gate of Homo sapiens, as seen here in this extinct thread:

But according to some early reviews, the new skellington system SAPIEN may have changed all that. According to The Sixth Axis:

I really hope so. I know in the grand scheme of things this is not a major issue, but I personally am the type of person that is really big on immersing myself in these games and seeing the bended knee constantly would take me out of the world killing my immersion.

Op I'm the guy that made that thread and i seen a clip from on YouTube and it looks like the bent knees are still there.

The technology seems cool.. But just like everything with EA sports I wouldn’t expect too much the first year.

FIFA had hypermotion 2 years ago and they improved it last year. Madden had fieldsense last year and they’re building on it this year.

I’m most likely skipping this year unless this years Madden gets raving reviews because what’s the point? It’s the first year and next year they’re going to try and sell sapien tech 2.0.

I get what you're saying, but as someone with a PS5 but also a gaming PC, if there are no issue with the modding community, the PC version is going to end up being an outstanding game by the time it's all said and done. The miracles these guys worked in the previous generation of PC Madden were impressive as hell. But now we get the better graphics and engine of the current generation. Again, assuming there are no major hiccups on the way to modding the game, it's going to be a lot of fun for us.


I say all that to say that, in light of that, I have no choice but to buy it this year. If nothing else, I ought to be able fix the hideous sleeve stripes on the Cardinals and give the Commanders gold pants and get rid of those stupid diamond holes on their jersey numbers.

I feel you about PC gaming. No doubt Madden should be great on it. Once finances are in order I’ll be on that side as well.

It’s a little bit ridiculous when some teams like the Raiders and 49ers still played on baseball diamonds for half the season and Madden out the box couldn’t simulate that for years but pc players could.
